Hand holding a Guinness pint in a pub; Kennedy’s sign glows behind, with Instagram post text about 2025 pints of the week winners.

Back in January 2026, one of our pints from Kennedy's Altrincham was named a 2025 pint of the week winner by GuinnessGB, putting us in the running for their pint of the year. Good company to be in, alongside pubs like The Britons Protection, Stockport Pints and The Strafford Arms Potters Bar. We didn't take the top spot in the end, but Guinness invited us down to their Open Gate Brewery in London.

We started with a tour of the Guinness Open Gate Brewery and a tasting session with Emmet, running us through their range of craft beers. If you've only ever had the classic pint, it's worth knowing there's a lot more going on behind that harp.

Then came the bit everyone was actually looking forward to: the Guinness pour competition. Bragging rights on the line, and it was Macy from our marketing team who took the win, pulling off a genuinely perfect pour. Turns out her old bar shifts weren't wasted after all.

From there we headed over to The Devonshire Arms and The Toucan. Big thanks to The Devonshire Arms in particular, who put the pints on the house and gave us the full tour of a proper venue.

Not bad for a pint that started out as a pint of the week winner.
